EA Sports FC 27 Confirmed for Nintendo Switch 2 and Switch: Here’s What to Expect

EA decided to keep betting big on Nintendo’s audience, and by the looks of it, that's not stopping anytime soon. Their next soccer game, EA Sports FC 27, is coming to both the original Switch and the Switch 2. It’s that cross-gen setup that makes total sense, especially since the first console has a massive player base that isn't going to vanish overnight just because a new system showed up. Those who upgrade to the Switch 2 should feel a pretty solid difference during gameplay. The beefier hardware will let the game run much smoother, and the expectation is for it to hit 60 frames per second without the strain the older model used to go through. You’ll probably be able to choose between favoring performance or giving graphics a slight boost for better lighting and textures, similar to what already happens on PS5 and Xbox Series. As for the first Switch version, the idea is to stick with what works today, updating rosters, kits, and core modes so no one gets left behind. The release is planned for that classic time of year around September, covering pretty much every platform out there. Ultimately, it’s good news for anyone who enjoys playing soccer on a handheld. EA took a while to get things right on Switch—in the early years, it was almost a watered-down version of the game—but recently they started taking the platform more seriously.
