GTA 6 Trailer 3: When Are We Finally Getting the Next Video?

The Grand Theft Auto community has been living, for weeks now, in a permanent state of anticipation. Every rumor, every recycled screenshot, every wild theory on social media gets picked apart in search of a clue about when Rockstar Games will finally drop the third trailer for GTA 6. The problem is simple: nobody outside Rockstar's offices actually knows the answer, and the company, true to form, hasn't confirmed anything. That, of course, hasn't stopped analysts and specialized journalists from trying to read between the lines. And there are, in fact, signs pointing to a specific window. ## A Window That's About to Open Most predictions place the trailer's release somewhere between late July and mid-August. Two reasons support this theory. The first has already stopped being an obstacle: many believed Rockstar was avoiding a trailer drop during the World Cup, not wanting to compete for attention with global sports coverage. That final has already been played, on July 19, clearing the calendar for the next big event capable of dominating online conversation. The second reason has to do with money. Take-Two, Rockstar's parent company, has an earnings call scheduled for August 7, and there's a track record of Rockstar clustering its major announcements around these dates — a trailer ahead of the call would give executives something concrete to point to as proof of success for investors. On top of that, there's all the groundwork already laid. Pre-orders opened on June 25, the official cover art and new logo were revealed shortly after, and Rockstar also released 60 new screenshots of the game. It's not normal for a company to build that much scaffolding and then simply stop. ## The Track Record Is Short, But Not Irrelevant It's worth remembering how this has played out so far. The first trailer dropped on December 4, 2023, after leaking roughly 16 hours ahead of its scheduled premiere. The second didn't arrive until May 6, 2025, at around 9:30 p.m. ET. Between the two, about 17 months passed. That's a small sample to draw firm conclusions from, but it's the only pattern available, and it's what most of the speculation is built on. ## What Could This Third Trailer Show? After two trailers that showed mostly atmosphere, setting, and a glimpse of the protagonist duo, Jason and Lucia, expectations are that this third video will go deeper. Some are hoping for an extended gameplay sequence, a closer look at the soundtrack and the various regions of the open world, and above all more screen time for the two main characters, who so far have felt more like images than fully realized people. Rockstar has already proven it can deliver pure gameplay: the second trailer was captured entirely in-engine on a PlayStation 5, split roughly evenly between gameplay and cutscenes, as a direct answer to anyone who doubted the first trailer was genuine in-game footage. What hasn't happened yet is letting Jason and Lucia talk at length — and that's one of the biggest points of curiosity around this possible third trailer. ## The Release Date Is Still November 19 For now, GTA 6 remains scheduled for November 19, 2026, on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, with digital preload opening November 12. It's worth remembering this date has already slipped twice — the press release for the second trailer, back in May 2025, still pointed to May 26, 2026 as the launch date. With the game getting closer and sales expectations continuing to climb, this third trailer stands as the last major marketing beat before launch week. All that's left is to wait — and keep analyzing every clue — to find out exactly when Rockstar will pull the trigger. --- *Source: [Forbes — GTA 6 Trailer 3: Latest Update On The Final Piece Of The Summer Hype Train](https://www.forbes.com/sites/brianmazique/2026/07/20/grand-theft-auto-6-trailer-3-latest-update-on-the-final-piece-of-the-summer-hype-train/)*
