Arc Raiders, the multiplayer shooter from Embark Studios that became one of the biggest surprises of 2025, just got another reason to be played on PS5 Pro. The Riven Tides update, set to release on April 28, 2026, brings PSSR 2 support, Sony's latest image reconstruction technology. What does that mean in practice? According to Embark Studios, the technology promises "sharper visuals, making environments appear cleaner and more stable, with better reconstruction of fine details" for PS5 Pro players. In other words, a game that was already visually competent will now deliver a noticeably superior experience for those with Sony's premium hardware. And Arc Raiders isn't joining that list alone. PSSR 2 support has already been confirmed for titles like Silent Hill 2, Cyberpunk 2077, Monster Hunter Wilds, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, and Alan Wake 2, showing that Sony is seriously expanding the PS5 Pro enhancement ecosystem. Beyond the visual upgrade, the Riven Tides update also brings a new map, a new ARC turbine, new map conditions, and a player event, making this one of the most substantial updates since the game launched. PSSR 2 is a technology Sony has been working on for some time and which, according to the company, "takes a very different approach" compared to the previous version.
