If you’re aiming to finish **Alan Wake 2** at 100 percent or simply want to push Saga Anderson’s combat potential to its limit, Lunch Boxes are one of the most important collectibles in the game.
At first glance they look like old metal boxes abandoned in the forest. But inside them you’ll find something extremely valuable.
Each Lunch Box contains **manuscript fragments**, a resource used to upgrade Saga’s weapons inside the Mind Place. Depending on the box, you can receive anywhere from **1 to 9 fragments**. Across the whole game there are **21 Lunch Boxes** to discover.
Tracking them all down is not just about completion. The notes and decorations around them quietly reveal a small hidden story about someone leaving these boxes across the region.
Before going hunting, it helps to understand how the game usually hides them.

## How to Recognize a Lunch Box
The game almost always leaves subtle visual clues nearby. Once you notice the pattern, spotting Lunch Boxes becomes much easier.
You’ll usually find them close to things like:
* painted rocks
* colorful fabric tied to branches
* small knitted decorations
* hidden spots slightly off the main path
These objects act like a breadcrumb trail. If you follow them, there’s a good chance a Lunch Box is waiting nearby.
Another useful thing to know
Some areas are not fully accessible when you first visit them. As the story progresses, water levels change or new routes open, making it possible to return and collect boxes you couldn’t reach before.

* painted stones
* colored cloth tied to branches
* handmade knitted objects
there’s usually a Lunch Box nearby.
