Final Fantasy X HD Remaster: Ultimate Guide to Celestial Weapons for Pro Players
Mar 5th '26 12:36pm:

If there’s one true endgame goal in **Final Fantasy X**, it’s the Celestial Weapons. These are the ultimate weapons for each character and basically a must-have if you plan to take on the superbosses, like Dark Aeons or Penance.
Each weapon has unique properties. They ignore the normal damage cap of 9,999 and can exceed that when fully powered. Each also has its own mechanic, often linked to the character’s HP or MP.
The catch is, when you first get a Celestial Weapon, it’s “dormant.” To unlock its full power, you need three things:
1. The weapon
2. The corresponding Crest
3. The corresponding Sigil
Once you have all three, you activate it at the giant crystal in **Macalania Woods** using the Celestial Mirror.
---
# How to Get the Celestial Mirror

No Celestial Weapon can be activated without the **Celestial Mirror**. It’s the key to unlocking the weapons’ true potential.
### Step 1 – Cloudy Mirror
Go to **Remiem Temple** in the Calm Lands.
Participate in the Chocobo race against another chocobo.
Win the race and you’ll get the **Cloudy Mirror**.
### Step 2 – Transform into the Celestial Mirror
Now head to **Macalania Woods**.
1. Find a boy near the forest entrance.
2. Talk to his separated parents.
3. Reunite the family.
4. The boy will open the path to a secret area.
There’s a giant crystal there. Use the Cloudy Mirror on it to turn it into the **Celestial Mirror**.
This area will also be used later to upgrade all the Celestial Weapons.

# List of Celestial Weapons
| Character | Weapon |
| --------- | -------------- |
| Tidus | Caladbolg |
| Yuna | Nirvana |
| Auron | Masamune |
| Wakka | World Champion |
| Lulu | Onion Knight |
| Kimahri | Spirit Lance |
| Rikku | Godhand |
Let’s break down each weapon in detail.
---
# Caladbolg (Tidus)

Tidus’s ultimate weapon is one of the strongest in the game. Damage increases the closer his HP is to max.
### How to Get It
1. Complete the Chocobo training minigame in the Calm Lands.
2. Defeat the trainer in the final race.
3. This unlocks a path in the northwest area.
4. Use the Celestial Mirror to open the chest containing Caladbolg.
### Sun Crest
Location: Zanarkand Dome.
Grab it right after the Yunalesca fight. Dark Aeons will appear afterward, making the area tougher.
### Sun Sigil
Win the Chocobo race with a time of **0:00**.
This requires collecting almost all balloons and avoiding birds. For pros: aim for 12+ balloons and take minimal hits.
---
# Nirvana (Yuna)

Nirvana’s damage scales with Yuna’s MP. Once upgraded, it also grants Double AP, making endgame leveling much easier.
### How to Get It
Capture all monsters in the Calm Lands for the Monster Arena. Then speak to the arena owner to get Nirvana.
### Moon Crest
Besaid Island – on the beach where Tidus arrives at the start.
### Moon Sigil
Remiem Temple – defeat all Yuna Aeons inside the temple, including hidden ones.
---
# Masamune (Auron)

This weapon works opposite to most others: the lower Auron’s HP, the higher the damage.
### How to Get It
1. Take the Rusty Sword in Calm Lands.
2. Go to the Mi’ihen statue on Mushroom Rock Road.
3. Interact with it using the sword. Masamune appears.
### Mars Crest
Mi’ihen Highroad Old Road
### Mars Sigil
Capture 10 monsters from each area for the Monster Arena.
---
# World Champion (Wakka)

Probably the most time-consuming weapon to get. Almost entirely Blitzball-dependent.
### How to Get It
Go to the Luca café after tournaments and show the Celestial Mirror to the bartender.
### Jupiter Crest
Locker room in Luca Stadium
### Jupiter Sigil
Win specific Blitzball prizes. Usual order: Attack Reels → Status Reels → Aurochs Reels → Jupiter Sigil
---
# Onion Knight (Lulu)

MP-based weapon: more MP = higher damage.
### How to Get It
Go to **Baaj Temple** with the airship. Dive and open the hidden chest among the ruins.
### Venus Crest
Guadosalam Farplane
### Venus Sigil
Dodge 200 lightning strikes in Thunder Plains. Yes, it’s as tough as it sounds.
Pro tip: there’s a crater that helps predict strikes.
---
# Spirit Lance (Kimahri)

Damage increases with full HP.
### How to Get It
Thunder Plains:
1. Activate three energy towers
2. A spirit appears
3. Follow it to a hidden area; the chest contains Spirit Lance
### Saturn Crest
Mt. Gagazet after Seymour Flux fight
### Saturn Sigil
Macalania Woods – complete three butterfly challenges
---
# Godhand (Rikku)

Godhand is extremely useful because it has **Gillionaire**, doubling money earned in battle, perfect for endgame Gil farming.
### How to Get It
On the airship, enter the code:
GODHAND
This unlocks a secret location in Mushroom Rock. Open the chest.
### Mercury Crest
Sanubia Desert
### Mercury Sigil
Cactuar Village – complete the minigame with 10 cactuars
---

Wakka → Rikku → Tidus → Yuna
They help with both farming and insane damage.
