I just finished watching Donkey Kong Bananza Direct, and as someone who dislikes the increasing prevalence of live service in games, it impressed me with its mix of modern mechanics and old-school vibes. They revealed so much that I will divide the sections with some of the mechanics they displayed to see if it might interest you or not. To start, **it's a prequel as the famous singer Pauline is still a child.** The top comment describes exactly what I think: @SeNki3301 said"**Looks like this game is canonically a prequel, seeing as Pauline is still a child. Maybe, in Mario Odyssey, Pauline named New Donk City after her best friend, who knows.** Couldn't say it better myself, shout out to you! The map is like an underground World, where the deeper you go, the more you will see. For example, you'll encounter snowy areas, volcanic sections, Tropical zones, and much more. **Destructible everything** Yep, you read that right, feeling like that giant rock in front of you is mocking you? **Destroy it** Your eyes are not deceiving you, it's the same rock after DK has done with her. Or, want to make a hole in the ground just because? **Start pummeling** **You can even make a hole in the ground, pick up some debris, and start swinging it like no tomorrow** **Oh, and you can also use it as a surfing board, why not, right?** These are some of the actions you can do, as there are more like Pauline can sing to open pathways and unlock secrets, clap with both hands and feet to collect everything around you, and so much more. **Transformations** DK is known for being a gorilla, right? But have you heard of **Zebra Bananza?** I mean it's 2025, so you can be anything, DK understood and now he's a Zebra that walks on water(Moses would've approved) An Ostrich that flies and lays waste to enemies below with its eggs of death. And last but not least,**Kong Bananza** his super saiyan form, AKA Daddy Pimp, Iced Out Kong **Tons of Costumes, Amibo's, Photo Mode, and even a creator mode called DK Artist** And finally, to end with a Gold Star,**You don't need to own the game to play it, plus it supports Co-op** I'm thrilled that sharing a game, allowing another player to join the adventure even if they don't have the game, is becoming increasingly common these days. You can also play with a friend, with each one controlling DK or Pauline. She can attack enemies with her singing, as it solidifies her singing notes into solid projectiles that shoot far away at enemies. And that's it, what do you think? The destruction level you can achieve in the stages looks incredibly impressive. Comment down below what excites you most, as there are many options to choose from!
